Mysusæter is the best entry point in Rondane National Park in terms of easy access and for travelling further into the park. Mysusæter is situated about ten kilometers north of Otta in the Gudbrandsdalen valley.
Rondane Hotel provides accommodation. Mysusæter Servicesenter houses a small grocery store and café. The store has a limited selection of groceries and is usually open in July, August and all main Norwegian holidays. Mysusæter Servicesenter also offers some cheaper accommodation.
From Otta, on the E6 highway between Oslo and Trondheim, it’s roughly a 20 minute drive to Mysusæter. Driving from Oslo takes about four hours.
There is plenty of parking available at Musysæter. There is paid parking (40 NOK) at Musysæter Servicesenter or drive the toll road all the way to the edge of the national park at Spranget. Parking there is free, but access to the road costs 20 NOK.
Take the train to Otta and the bus from Otta to Mysusæter. Usually, there is one bus in the morning and one in the afternoon. Check out the timetables on Entur.
