Mysusæter is perhaps the easiest entry point in Rondane National Park both in terms of getting there and how to get further into the national park. Mysusæter is situated about 10 km north of Otta in the Gudbrandsdalen valley. Another great entry point for Rondane National Park is Høvringen.
At Mysusæter you can find accommodation at Rondane Hotel and a small grocery store and cafe at Mysusæter Servicesenter. Mysusæter Servicesenter has a limited selection of groceries and is usually open in July, August and all main Norwegian holidays. You can also find some cheaper accommodation at Mysusæter Servicesenter.
If you have a car you can drive from Otta and up to Mysusæter. Driving all the way from Oslo takes about 4 hours.
There are lots of opportunities for parking your car at Musysæter. You can use the paid parking(40 NOK) at Musysæter Servicesenter or you can drive the toll road all the way to the edge of the national park and park at Spranget. The parking is free, but access to the road costs 20 NOK.
Take the train to Otta and the bus from Otta to Mysusæter. Usually, there is one bus in the morning and one in the afternoon. Check out the timetables at Opplandstrafikk.no or call them(+47 61 28 90 00) if it is hard to find the correct departure times.
