Getting to the trailhead
From Rødøy ferry terminal in Losvika (both express boats and ferries arrive here), follow Road 432 northwards. Turn left off this road to Klokkergården, where you can park your car.
There are several marked trails to Rødøyløva. This trail description begins from Klokkegården.
The trail starts up from the road, just north of Klokkegården. The trail is steep as it takes you up a hollow east of Selvågstinden, located some 216 meters above sea level. After going inward slightly, follow the trail up to the left in the direction of Rødøyløva. It’s a steady climb up to the top. There’s a steep section just before you reach the peak.
The view from the top is breathtaking. But be careful - you’re now standing on a peak with a sheer drop of 400 meters.
Sherpa steps to Rødøyløva are under construction and will be ready for use in summer 2019, making Rødøyløva more accessible.
Just below Rødøyløva is Storsand Beach. Here you’ll find a toilet, shower, sunbeds and a cabin where you can grill.
