Om Rødøyløva

Rødøyløva (which means lion-shaped mountain) is located at 443 meters above sea level, and it is a true classic in Helgeland. From the top, view the pristine turquoise waters and archipelago below.

Express Boat

You can take an express boat from Bodø or from Tonnes with Rødøy as your destination. Tickets can be purchased on the 177 Nordland website.

The specific express boat routes are 23-731 Bodø-Helgeland-Bodø and 18-411 Rødøyruten.

Another option is to take a ferry from either Jektvik or Kilboghavn, both of which are at the end of Fv17. Tickets can be purchased on the Torghatten Nord website.

From the "Rødøy ferjekai" at Losvika find the road that goes to Selvågosen and Klokkergården. This is where the trail starts climbing up the mountain. It starts off quite steep as the trail goes east of Urtinden/Selvågtinden.

After this, the trail levels out a bit as it brings up against the peak. At the peak itself, there is a brief steep section before you reach the top.
