Glomtinden is located at 419 metes above sea level, and the views on this trip are simply magnificent. Despite some scrambling, it's a relaxing afternoon hike.
From a small rocky plateau just before the summit, you can get perhaps the best views of the entire trip. The lookout point includes views of Rørvikvatnet lake, Hopsvatnet lake, the city of Svolvaer, and Mount Vågakallen. At the summit, you'll get more of a panoramic view.
Take E10 from Svolvær, and drive for a little less than 15 km. There is a parking lot, halfway along Rørvikvatnet lake.
Please note: There are several options for hiking to the top of the mountain.
From the parking lot along Rørvikvatnet lake, hike on the old gravel road. The higher you climb, the better the views of Vestvågøy to the west will be. After approximately 1.6 km, transition onto the small trail on the right, although the gravel road continues for about 2km and can also be used to access the summit, the small trail is a bit more picturesque. Be aware that the trail becomes narrower.
Now after, 2.7 km, just before the summit you'll find a small plateau that has some rocky areas in the east. This spot is perhaps the best view on the entire trip. Yes, even better than the summit! You just have 200 more meters of scrambling before the summit. If it's particularly nice weather, take a dip in the Rørvikvatnet lake.
