Håholmen is a former fishing village located on a tiny island near the Atlantic Ocean Road. These days, a hotel occupies the village and runs a boat between Geitøya Island and Håholmen.
Jump on one of the scheduled services during summer for a visit to the island and enjoy a meal or drink, or book an overnight stay for the full experience.
Håholmen is reached by boat from Geitøya Island in 5-10 minutes. A scheduled service runs daily from late June to mid-August. Outside of this time transport is by agreement with the hotel. Return tickets for adults cost 95 NOK. Children under 12 and hotel guests travel for free.
Geitøya Island is towards the eastern end of Norwegian Scenic Route Atlanterhavsvegen.
From Molde, travel north on road 64. Join the chain of bridges just after Vevang. Geitøya follows after Eldhusøya Island.
From Kristiansund, follow road 64 west. Join the scenic route in Kårvåg and immediately after the third bridge, look for the parking lot.

For a longer stay on the island book into Håholmen Havstuer, a hotel, restaurant, and pub occupying the former fishing village.
There are varied lodging options along the Atlantic Ocean Road, with some stunning locations available.
Not far from Farstad Beach is Hustadvika Guesthouse where every room comes with a sea view.
The Atlantic Road Cabins (Atlanterhavsveien Sjøstuer) in Kårvåg offer fully self-contained cabins and camping.Alternatively you can stay in the bigger centers, Kristiansund or Molde.
