Ekkertinden is one of those places, that you definitely want to visit. Almost everyone knows the famous Preikestolen, but this is Sunnmøre's own top with a drop in their own backyard.
The hike is really steep and takes around two hours to get to the top, which stands in 1189 meters. But the view in the end is stunning and well worth the trip!
If you arrive by car you can park in Gjøra and walk about 400 meters along the road until the trail starts on your left hand side.
The trail starts right by the road a bit north of Gjøra. It starts fairly steep throughout the forest, then flattens out before you climb about 60 meters up to Gjørashaugen. From there you will quickly reach the tree line and you will find a steep trail going up to the top. The top itself is very flat.
- There is a small supermarket in Gjøra
