Om Three-Country Cairn
This is the world’s northernmost three-country cairn (Treriksrøysa). The cairn marks the point where the borders of Norway, Sweden and Finland meet. It is also the only such place in Norway where you can walk freely between the three countries.
The suggested route begins in Finland, near Kilpisjärvi.
From Skibotn, on the eastern side of the Lyngenfjord, head south on route E8.
Cross the Finnish border and park at the large car park just north of Kilpisjärvi.
The trail is clearly marked. The trail follows relatively flat terrain, but the long distance makes the hike demanding.
