Om Explore the History of Nusfjord
Nusfjord is one of the best-preserved fishing villages in Lofoten and with this Historic Walking Tour, you have the opportunity to explore the quaint fishing cabins and other buildings which have all been an integral part of the life along the coast of Norway for hundreds of years. Learn about what it was like to be a fisherman in the last century along the rugged northern coast of Norway, all while enjoying a stroll around the idyllic fishing village.
On each historic building, you will find a sign detailing the important facts about each building's purpose.
You can follow the route on your own or you can join one of the organized tours which depart from the Nusfjord Rorbuer reception at 10:00 and 14:00 every day during the high season (June-August).

Car
From Leknes, head south on E10 south towards Å for about 22 kilometers. Turn left towards Nusfjord. Follow this road for 6 kilometers until you arrive in the fishing village. There is public parking situated very close to the Nusford Rorbuer reception building.
Turbeskrivelse
From the Nusfjord Rorbuer reception, head to the right (north) and down the stairs to the first stop on the historical tour.
1. The Boat House
From the boathouse, head along the water to the east and up to the next two buildings.
2. The Red Shed
3. The Saw Mill
From here, cross the parking lot and keep to the right. You will see two small buildings on the hillside to the right.
4. The Blacksmith Shop
5. The Smokery
Continue along the road heading south for a few hundred meters until you arrive at your next stop.
6. The Whaling Museum
Head back towards the harbor and walk down to the southern half of the pier. The next stop on the historical tour is the large yellow building you will see at the very end of the pier.
7. The Fish Oil Factory
Walk along the pier and over to the other side of the harbor and around to the other side of the building and up the stairs. Here you enter the next building.
8. The Landhandleri - The Country Store
When you exit the building and return down the stairs, take a sharp right turn and you will see a building with a stone facade, which is the next stop on the tour.
9. Oriana Kro - The Potato House
To the right of Oriana Kro, you will reach the final stop along the historical route.
10. Karoline's Restaurant
