Det vi skal gjøre
We’ll start early at Tyinholmen, as this is a long hike. There we’ll hand out equipment, provide information about the tour, and then we’re off to Koldedalen. From the road to Koldedalen, we’ll start by heading past Urdadalsvannet and walk on the path until we reach the glacier. On the glacier, we step into glaciar equipment. Following the glacier, we’ll head up to Uraknatten and then climb the backside of Uranostind. From there, we’ll walk up to the summit, which will provide a spectacular view over Jotunheimen.

The guided adventure is delivered by Tyin Aktiv and everything will be organized from Tyinholmen, if not otherwise agreed.
Tyinholmen is located in the middle of southern Norway, easily accessible from either Bergen or Oslo. The mountain roads Sognefjellsvegen and Valdresflye are perfect entry points to Tyinholmen, but keep in mind that the roads are closed from November to April due to snow. Road E16 over Filefjell is another alternative, being open all year round. Check the National Tourist Routes in Norway to ensure the roads are open, especially if there are harsh conditions.
From Oslo, head north on road E16 towards Filefjell. Once you reach Filefjell, take road Fv53 to Tyin and then Fv252 to Tyinholmen. The journey takes about 4.5 hours. A 4 hour trip, is all that is needed to get for Bergen to Tyinholmen. Head northeast on E16 until you reach Tyin, then take Fv252 to Tyinholmen.
Nabobil is always a great option for getting around in Norway. You can only rent a nabobil if you have a scandinavian drivers licence. Be sure to add the discount code “outtt” to save NOK 250,- off on your rent.
