Om Barden

Barden is an easy and accessible peak located on the northwestern end of the Senja island. It is a very well-known and popular hiking adventure in Senja.

The hike up to the top of Barden is an easy trek and you will see incredible views of nearby fjords, Mefjorden and Øyfjorden. The mountain rises up vertically from the ocean and the peak is very flat and as large as a soccer field.

Veibeskrivelse

The trailhead starts by Mefjordbotn on Senja. Follow the road towards Fjordgård and right at the tunnel opening, you will find a small parking lot on the side of the road.

There is no bus stop close to the trailhead, so arriving there by car is your best option.

Turbeskrivelse

Follow the signs for Barden from the parking lot. The first part of the trail goes through a marsh area and can be very wet. Make sure you have the appropriate waterproof shoes. Follow the trail up to the top of the ridge. At the top, you will find a new sign showing the way to Barden.

The trail continues along the ridge to Håndkletinden where the trail gets a bit steeper. Continuing on, you get to a more open area that brings you all the way up to the main peak.
