Experience one of the most popular beaches in Oslo
- Destinasjon: Oslo
- Sesong: juni–august
Hvervenbukta is located at Bunnefjorden in the Oslo Fjord and it is one of the most popular beaches in Oslo. Stubjan Manor House, a mansion in Ljan once existed on the property but burned down in 1913. A few buildings remain, which have been turned into art galleries, a kiosk, and cafe. It’s a perfect place to spend a weekend afternoon.
The beach is wide and sandy, however, the southwest side is quite rocky. There are nice hiking trails in the area, providing incredible views of the fjord. There are picnic tables, so pack a lunch or get something to eat at Anne på landets café, where ordering the carrot cake is a must!
Take bus 87, 'Ingierstrand' to 'Hvervenbukta'. Walk across the bridge and keep left at the first intersection. It’s about a 3-minute walk from the bus stop. Alternatively, take bus 80E 'Åsbråten' to 'Vestskrenten' or bus 83 'Oppegård rådhus' to 'Gladvollveien'. This option requires about 25 minutes of walking.
If traveling via car, you will find a parking lot next to the bus stop.
