Om Frognerseteren Restaurant and Café
Frognerseteren, meaning ‘mountain dairy farm’ in English, dates back to 1891. It’s a restaurant and cafe at the top of Holmenkollen, providing breathtaking panoramic views of the entire city. Frognerseteren is also the hub for many hiking, biking, and skiing trails in southern Nordmarka, check out the trails to Sognsvann Lake and Ullevålseter Sportsstue.
Sit by the cozy fireplace or on the sunny terrace while enjoying hot and cold foods from the self-service cafe. Try traditional Norwegian dishes including, meatballs and rømmegrøt (sour cream porridge) or the soup of the day made with seasonal ingredients. Make sure to eat the famous apple pie with homemade ice cream or the chocolate mousse.
Restaurant Finstua’s culinary traditions date back to the late 1800s, with locally sourced and seasonal food. Tables are covered with white tablecloths and lit with candles. It’s highly recommended to reserve a table (booking@frognerseteren.no).
