Om Frognerparken

Frognerparken (Frogner Park) is Oslo’s largest city park. Formerly the property of Frogner Manor, today it is open to the general public and features the famous Vigeland Park. Gustav Vigeland was a prolific Norwegian sculptor, here you'll find over 200 sculptures based on his designs made from bronze, granite, and wrought iron. There’s also an open-air public pool, ice-skating rink (in winter), tennis courts, museum, a playground, café, and restaurant. In addition, the park is home to Norway’s largest rose collection, containing more than 150 species.

Frognerparken is a great place to run, walk, or just soak up the sun. The paths are wide and made of fine gravel. In the center, where Vigeland Park is located, the path becomes paved. There are many open green spaces that are fantastic for sports or picnics. Access to the ice-skating rink, open-air pool, and tennis courts require payment. Tennis courts can be reserved in advance.

Veibeskrivelse

From Jernbanetorget, take tram 12 (Majorstuen) to "Vigelandsparken". Bus 20 also stops there. This will leave you at the gated entrance of the park. Alternatively, take any T-bane line to "Majorstuen" and walk about 10 minutes southwest along the main road, Kirkeveien. The park will be on your right. There is also a small paid parking lot at the entrance.
