Om Sørenga Sjøbad
Sørenga Sjøbad is a 200 square meter seawater pool located at the tip of the trendy new neighborhood Sørenga, in Fjord City. It’s surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and grocery stores. And has incredible views of the Opera House, Barcode, and Hovedøya Island.
Sørenga Sjøbad is Oslo’s largest seawater pool and was featured in The Guardian as one of the top 10 best seawater pools in Europe. There is a small man-made sandy beach as part of the sea pool. Aside from that, the beach area is made of wood with a few patches of grass to lay on. There’s also a diving board, children’s pool, wheelchair-accessible pool, and even a 50-meter pool with lanes.
From Jernbanetorget, walk towards the Opera house. At the rear of the building, follow the path out towards the water where you will find a floating bridge that takes you over to Sørenga. Follow the promenade to the tip and you’ll find the pool.
Alternatively, take your own bike or an Oslo Bysykkel (city bike) to the “Sukkerbiten” station, located before the bridge.
