1.8 kilometers (out‑and‑back)
The trip starts about 1.2 km east of Ryfoss, along E-16. On the left side of the road a space is cleared where there often is timber. From this spot, there are two dirt roads upward into the forest. You take the right and follow the signs and markings. You first get to an opening in a stone wall that once was built by the land owner and serves as fencing of the property. Inside the wall we see that it used to be cultivated but is now covered with forest. On a rock surface a barn that has been restored still stands. Inside the barn you can read about the history of the place Hamar. In the book of the village it is written that they fed 2-3 cows. They annually answered 4 daler for the space, they were to mow 4 meadow plots, they would spend one week in haying and cut 40 000 square feet of fields.
