About Laksforsen Falls

Hike only a few hundred meters from the parking lot to watch the raging 17-meter high waterfall with an incredible flow of water at 700 meters cubed per second! Although the hike is very short, be aware that the trail is extremely steep and slippery. It's totally worth it though because you'll get the best view!

Laksforsen translates to Salmon Waterfall, so, of course, the very traditional cafe and restaurant serve fresh salmon. You can enjoy a fantastic meal while admiring the waterfall and the river called Vefsna. Learn more about the fishing culture and history of the area in the basement, where the Helgeland Museum has a special exhibit.

The easiest way to access the waterfall is by car. It's less than a 15-minute drive from Trofors on E6 towards Alvassvegen. The parking lot will be on your left-hand side.
