About Makalausfjellet

Follow the road from Reinli towards Stavadalen and Nordre Fjellstølen. Turn right towards Liaåsen (toll road NOK 30 in 2010) and take the first exit to the left towards an area with private cabins and holiday homes. Park your car at the end of the road, near a small water pump house.

Alternatively, you can park at the Stavadalen Ski Center and walk uphill. You’ll find the trail at the top of the hill. It’s steep, but a short climb.
The main path starts to the right of the parking area. It is not marked, but still easy to follow and takes you over a mountain plateau, to Makalaus. A stunning view in all directions, and lives up to its name “Makalaus”, which means “great”.
