About Uranostind

Anyone who has driven Highway 53 past the Tyin in good weather has probably noticed Uranostind. The summit is undoubtedly among the most beautiful peaks of Jotunheimen, with its pointed shape and glacier on the right side.

To start the trip, one must drive into the service road from Tyinholmen into Koldedalen and follow the marked path towards Skogadalsbøen to Uradalsvatnet. From here, one over the river at the end of the lake and further up towards the glacier as a look up and right.

Over the glacier follows a Uraknatten (1958 m.) And is eventually strongly to the left and then go up to the saddle between Uranostind (2157 m.) And Slingsbytind (2026 m.). Glacier requires glacier equipment and experience with glacier. Do not walk alone!

From the saddle it is approx. 200 meters to the top of Uranostind. The back gets gradually narrower as one approaches the top.

Fantastic views in all directions.
