This is a summer mountain farm road to the farm Kvam. You start by walking the old King's Road Kongevegen from Neset to Kvam, or from Søndrol.
You follow Kongsvegen until you meet the sign "Hugastølen". From here follow the pasture road that is marked with white bricks. A tractor road is partially placed "on top of" the old mountain farm road. Just before the gravel road ends, turn left and find yourself on the old mountain farm road again. This winds up the mountain birch forests, and not long after you are at Smalastølen, where you find a little hut. On two flat rocks a few meters east of the trail, opposite the hut, there are at least 9 cupmarks.
The trail continues in zigzags upward lush birch forests, eventually plains out, and soon you are at the spot that the path to Hugakollen takes off. Should you fancy a "summit", detour by Hugakollen for about an hour and you still have time to enjoy the wonderful views.
The path towards the mountain pasture goes straight until you are looking straight down at the old Kvamsstølen from a ridge.
You can go the same way back, or you can go mountain farm road down to Øylo. "
An out-and-back route takes you to a certain point, for example the peak of a mountain, before returning to the start along the same trail. Distance and duration calculations are based on the total trip.
A loop route, also known as a circuit, brings you back to the start while avoiding retracing your steps. Distance and duration calculations are based on the total trip.
A point-to-point route takes you from one location to another, without returning to the start. Distance and duration calculations are based on one-way travel.
