Veslefjellet Hiking Trail
Round track in open terrain
- Destination: Venabygdsfjellet
- Season: June-October
- Difficulty: Easy
- Distance: 3.9 kilometers (loop)
- Elevation Gain: 120 meters
- Duration: 2-4 hours
Veslefjellet is not very high, but you get a fantastic view in all directions in an open mountain terrain.
Drive by car towards Forrestadsetra, and park on the right side at a information blackboard, about 100 meters before Forrestadsetra.
Start the walk by going down to the barrier and over the bridge. Here you continue on foot all the way to the top of the dirt road. Then follow a trail past a solitary hut where you either select the trail up to the top of Veslefjellet (1,034 meter about sea level), or follow the trail to the left through light birch forest to the two new tourist cabins for DNT on Veslefjell. You then continue on the path over the top, down to the fine cabin plant Jonstølen, on the south side of Veslefjell. You can now choose to walk in to Dørfallet, or follow the signs back to Forrestadseter. The whole trip is in open and easy terrain.
Dog leashes apply from 1 April to 15 October on Venabygdsfjellet
If you want a paper map for the trip, you can download it in PDF and print.
