About Stegastein

Stretching 30 meters out from the edge of the mountain, Stegastein offers a breathtaking panorama of the Aurlandsfjord. The wooden platform features a glass barrier at the end, showcasing the fjord 650 meters below. A popular viewpoint for centuries, this modern interpretation of a mountain viewpoint is now a comfortable and accessible stop for all.

Getting there

Stegastein is located about 15-minutes drive from Aurlandsvangen, at the southern end of Norwegian Scenic Route Aurlandsfjellet.

Winding along the mountainside on Road 5627, you won’t miss the viewpoint extending out from the road. There’s a parking lot alongside.
