About Orrestranda Beach

Stretching for almost 5 kilometers at the edge of the North Sea, Orrestranda is the longest sandy beach in Norway. With so much space its easy to find a spot to hide away amongst the dunes and beachgrass typical of the Jæren beaches. With clean, albeit cold, water and pristine surrounds Orrestranda is a popular destination regardless of the season.

By the beach is “Friluftshuset”, a recreation center providing information and cultural activities. You can eat your lunch inside and sometimes there’s an open café.

Getting there

Orrestranda Beach runs parallel to Norwegian Scenic Route Jæren.

Driving along Road 507 follow the signs toward “Friluftshuset” where there is parking available a short walk from the beach.

  • Free parking
  • Café, dining area, and toilets at Friluftshuset
