Stop for “the view” on a trip through Gaularfjellet
- Destination: Sognefjord
- Season: April-December
The Utsikten viewpoint provides a necessary rest point immediately before or after driving the twisting and turning road through Bårddalen Valley.
Utsikten means “the view” in Norwegian–quite an apt name. The structure pokes out over the edge of the mountain for an outlook down the valley and over the surrounding mountains. The pointed design, reaching the north, south, and west delivers a variety of viewing angles worth exploring. The viewpoint was completed in 2016.
Utsikten is located at the edge of Norwegian Scenic Route Gaularfjellet (Road 613), a 37 kilometer drive from Balestrand.
