About Fallfossen Waterfall
Along the Grimsa river towards Rondane National Park is Fallfossen Waterfall. An easy trail and bridges over the river make the waterfall an excellent destination for those seeking adventure without too much effort.
Turn off Road 27 (Norwegian Scenic Route Rondane) onto Grimsdalsvegen, 8 kilometers south of Folldal. Shortly after you will see a parking lot on the left-hand side.
From the parking lot, follow the gravel road running south towards Gamle Grimsa Bru. From there, follow the trail west along the northern bank of the river.
Just before you reach the waterfall you’ll come to a lean-to in a nice area for a break. From there you can continue to the waterfall and onto the bridge over the river.
You can choose to return along the same trail or continue over the bridge. If you head to the southern side of the river, look for an old carriage way to the left shortly after the bridge. Follow this east and until you come once again to Gamle Grimsa Bru.
Cross the bridge and head up the gravel road back to the parking lot.
