Essential info

About Gamle Grimsa Bru

Stretch your legs with an easy walk to Gamle Grimsa Bru (“the Old Grimsa Bridge”) near Folldal, a nice stop while travelling along Norwegian Scenic Route Rondane. You can also start a longer hike by following the river west to Fallfossen Waterfall.

The bridge was initially constructed in 1870 but demolished in 2004 due to damage by rot. The bridge you see today opened in 2005.

Getting there

Turn off Road 27 (Norwegian Scenic Route Rondane) onto Grimsdalsvegen, 8 kilometers south of Folldal. Shortly after you will see a parking lot on the left-hand side.

Trail description

From the parking lot, follow the gravel road running south towards Gamle Grimsa Bru. By the bridge is a lean-to where you can relax and enjoy the calming sound of the river.
