About Strømbu
Strømbu rest stop is an excellent starting point for hikes in Rondane National Park, including highlights such as the magnificent Høgronden Mountain and the lush Skjerdalen Valley.
Relax and enjoy the views of the winding Atna River from the rest area’s roof-top terrace. Inside the main building is a welcoming waiting room with a fireplace and large windows. The rest stop was designed by the architect Carl-Viggo Hølmebakk and completed in 2008.
During the summer season, you’ll find a staffed kiosk and information center.

Where to stay
Offering cabin and campsite rental, Rondetunet Outdoor Activity Center is the perfect starting point for outdoor adventures, which in addition to hiking, includes fishing and canoe paddling. The main buildings include a café as well as a shop selling equipment for outdoor activities.
Rondane Gjestegård is a small charming inn offering hotel and cabin accommodation, as well as cozy communal areas for relaxation. Their restaurant serves locally sourced breakfast and dinner.
