About Sohlbergplassen

Sohlbergplassen viewing platform gives you far-reaching views of Atnasjøen Lake framed by the round mountains of Rondane National Park. The concrete platform curves gently around the slim pine trees, while the steel-lattice floor provides water and light to the soft forest floor. The platform was designed by the architect Carl-Viggo Hølmebakk and completed in 2006. Hølmebakk named after the Norwegian artist Harald Sohlberg, who painted the famous painting “Winter’s Night in Rondane.” Standing at the platform and soaking up the views, you’ll understand why.

Getting there

The viewpoint is located along Road 27 (Norwegian Scenic Route Rondane) and is easily visible from the road. The parking lot is immediately in front of the viewpoint.
