From Furuhaugli start by cycling down the road to the main road E6. Follow the gravel road that travels along the main road. A few hundred meters after the junction, this road crosses the main road. Be very careful when you cross the main road as many cars are driving very fast here.
On the other side of the main road follow the road as it crosses a wetland area. At the next junction, take a right onto the road marked as a hiking and cycling route running in the direction of Vålåsjøen Lake. When you reach the lake, follow the road as it runs underneath the railway. The road continues along the railway to the end of the lake.
At the end of Vålåsjøen Lake, make sure you don't take the road underneath the railway again. Follow the road showing you the way to Hjerkinn (12 kilometers).
The road continues to go along the railway, and after 2.4 kilometers it takes a sharp right turn as it goes underneath the railway again. Follow this road until it reunites with the main road. Make sure to go straight in all junctions along the way.
Once again, take care while walking across the main road. Follow the road on the other side for 1 kilometer. Take a left onto a dirt road for only 80 meters before you take a right onto a paved road. This road takes you the last 4 kilometers to Hjerkinn Fjellstue.
