  • Ved Järpliden har man bevart et såkalt "smygetre". De gamle finnene trodde de kunne kurere sykdom ved å smyge seg gjennom slike trær, mens man leste finske bønner.

About Järpliden

Järpliden is located at the border of Norway, about 13 km north of Bograngen. 100 years ago Järpliden was a rather big community in the northern part of Värmland. The school had 60 pupils, although 267 people had emigrated to America between 1850 and 1910. Today there are only 15 residents left in this typical Finnskog-village that comes alive every summer, when The Jularbo festival is held here. Calle Jularbo was a famous Swedish accordion musician who visited Järpliden and dedicated some of his music to the village.
