About Kuvauen Beach
Kuvauen is a narrow inlet into the mainland with several small sandy beaches and is well protected from the wind. It is idyllic and ideal for swimming, sunbathing, beach life, tenting, fishing, bouldering and boating. The area is very child-friendly and easy to keep an overview over with long and flat beaches. You can walk all the way down with a stroller.
Kuvauen is located on Vesterøy. Coming from Fredrikstad, exit from county road 108 about 1 km after crossing the bridge onto the island, first on Lonøyveien, and then on Vauerveien and follow signs for Kuvauen.
Parking: There are free parking spaces approx. 500 meters before Kuvauen.
The bus stops at Bratte Bakke in the intersection of county road108 and Lonøyveien (county road 472)
The trip starts at the parking lot of Kuvauen. Here, the marked coastal path enters an old forest and leafy tree. After about 5 minutes the forest opens and you are at the seaside.
It is allowed to put up a tent here.
At Kuvauen there is a barbecue, seating area and outhouse.
