The short hike to the ‘giant’s kettle’ Kjerringkjelen is something the kids are sure to enjoy!
From the parking lot, the pathway turns gently through a majestic forest. Shortly after, the river area opens up and the Kjerringkjele comes to view. In Vekveselva there is a large giant’s kettle, which is a great for children to play at. For older children and adults this can be the starting point for hikes to destinations further away in the same area.
At low water level it is possible to go all the way into the giant’s kettle. We guarantee that the children will be amazed with the river creation.
At Haugset you can continue the trip behind the barn and up through the gate. Remember to close the gates! In the pitch over the farm there are multiple paths to choose from. In this area you’ll also find Storfuruberget, Vålåstadhåmmåren and Ørsnipen.
Parking: At the Haugset farm, east of Veksveselva (river). Park responsibly so that you don’t block others. It is also not allowed to park in front of tool shed or or the barn.
