About Kvitskriuprestinn Natural Monument
Kvitskriuprestinn is one of nature's little wonders. These 6-meter tall moraine formations are slowly washed away by the rain. The rock at the top of the pyramid serves as a protection against rain and erosion.
The pyramid formations at Kvitskriuprestinn can only be found here in all of Northern Europe and the current pyramids are estimated be between 100 and 200 years old.
About 4 km north of the city Otta you will find a road on your right-hand side when going northwards with a white sign to Kvitskruiprestene and Reiret. Continue straight on this road for about 1km until you hit the toll booth where you have to pay 20 NOK to continue.
About 3.5 km after the toll booth you will find a small parking lot for Kvitskriuprestinn.
From the parking lot just follow the sign up to Kvitskriuprestinn. The trail climbs up from the road and you need to go up many steps before you reach the pyramids.
- You can also access Kvitskriuprestinn from Mysusæter. Drive pass Rondane Hotell and you will see a sign to Kvitskriuprestinn on the right-hand side of the road.
- Parking is free
