When you travel to Rondane National Park through Mysusæter it is hard not to be amazed by the Ulafossen waterfall plunging down from the national park itself. The waterfall has multiple falls, but the main fall is about 50 meters high.
Hike up and along the waterfall to see it up close.
If you have a car you can drive from Otta and up to Mysusæter. When you get close to Mysusæter, you will find Rondane Hotel on your right-hand side. You can ask if it is ok to park your car there or continue for about 500 more meters and park your car behind Musysæter Servicesenter.
You can also take the bus from Otta to Mysusæter. Usually, there is one bus in the morning and one in the afternoon. Check out the timetables at Opplandstrafikk.no or call them(+47 61 28 90 00) if it is hard to find the correct departure times.
The trails start from the main road a couple of hundred meters above Rondane Hotel. You will see a sign on the north side of the road leading towards the waterfall. The trail will first go through a small cabin area and will follow some paths and gravel roads before it finally gets closer to the waterfall itself.
The path continues along Ulafossen all the way up to the top. There are many nice little viewpoints you should check out on the way up to the top.
When you have reached the top of the waterfall you can choose to hike the same way down again or if you prefer, walk the gravel road back by following the road down to Mysusæter again.
