About Svarttjønn

Svarttjønne is an idyllic tarn in the woods. Perfect for a family getaway!

Getting there

Exit the E136 by signs towards Slådalsvegen/Vågå and onto Vestsidevegen. Starting point is just south of Bottheimgardane.

Trail description

Start from Bottheimsetervegen, which is marked blue and white. After about 1 km, take off from the main path and head east along the Flotvegen, which is marked red and white. Wide and nice path to the Svarttjønn. Here you will find a nice bonfire site.

If you continue the road past Svarttjønne you come to Kvennåe. Here is a nice bridge over the river. Above the bridge there are great waterfalls.

Facts

Since Kvennåe has been built into small-scale hydro power plants, the water supply in the river can be affected at times.
