About Vinstervatnet Loop

The Vinstervatnet loop, located in Beitostølen, provides incredible views of Jotunheimen National Park and is very accessible for skiers of all levels.

Getting there

The trailhead is located at the top of the alpine hill in the heart of Beitostølen. Park in the parking lot next to the chairlift and either take the chairlift to the top or walk/ski to the start of the tracks.

Trail description

The loop starts at the top of the alpine hill, so either take the chairlift to the top or climb up the side of the ski hill. Start the adventure on “Blue 1”, underneath “Kanusehøgdene”. Turn left here and follow the trail for about 800 meters until you reach “Red 1”. Follow “Red 1” for the entire loop. You will reach a few crossings during the loop but be sure to stay on “Red 1” until you return to the alpine hill area where you will be on “Blue 1”.
