About Skjellungskampen

Skjellungskampen (420m above sea level) is a viewpoint within Nordre Land municipality. There is an amazing view from Skjellungskampen over the landscape and the Dokka delta nature reserve at the northern end of Randsfjorden.

Skjellungskampen is a medium to demanding hike that be reached from two starting points – dependent on desired difficulty level. You can choose to start from either Mæhlumslia (easy) or Kolbjørnhus-renne (demanding). From the viewpoint you can walk a further 0.5km to Huldreputten to find the nature experience chair Huldreputten.

During the hike you will be able to see the remnants of the log driving industry and landmarks. There are several places where drinking water can be found along the route and plenty of nice places to rest your legs.

Skjellungskampen is one of 16 hiking routes designated by Nordre Land Helselag where you can win a prize for completing the route multiple times. This is an initiative to encourage people to be more active, designed to appeal to all abilities. These punch cards can be purchased from Sport 1 in Bergfoss centre, Dokka Camping, Dokka Frivillighetssentral and the municipality’s offices.

Getting there

To reach Kolbjørnshus-renn you will need to follow fv245 from Dokka in the direction of Jevnaker. After approximately 1km you will reach Ringen Stadion (you will see a sign). Turn to the right here and park.
