This is an old road for the mountain farms which was also used as church road for people in Lykkja who belonged to Høre parish until 1882. The use over a long time has left its marks on the landscape, and the trail is broad and easy to walk. Just before the highest point when you go from Vang, you get to the "resting rock", a large boulder from the Ice Age. On top of the ski lift in Raudalen, you can find the "Dead body rocks", where the dead from Lykkjegardene were transported on the first day of the journey to Høre stave church.
You get to the starting point for the trip by driving Slettefjellvegen for 2km and take to the right at the sign to "Øygardsstølen". You continue on the road for 4.1 km to the end, where you will find the information board where the trail starts. You end up on the parking lot at the ski resort in Raudalen.
An out-and-back route takes you to a certain point, for example the peak of a mountain, before returning to the start along the same trail. Distance and duration calculations are based on the total trip.
A loop route, also known as a circuit, brings you back to the start while avoiding retracing your steps. Distance and duration calculations are based on the total trip.
A point-to-point route takes you from one location to another, without returning to the start. Distance and duration calculations are based on one-way travel.
