About Guttormsvauen
Guttormsvauen is a narrow inlet east of Kuvauen extending far into the mainland, and has undoubtedly once been a strait that had connection with Vauerkilen. Halfway into Guttormsvauen, on the west side, you’ll find a nice shallow sandy beach. Little puddles in the sand make it particularly popular among children. There’s a small grass area at the head of the inlet that has space for a few tents. But remember, it is forbidden to pitch tents closer than 50 meters to the sea.
Getting there
Guttormsvauen is located on Vesterøy. Coming from Fredrikstad, exit from county road 108 about 1 km after crossing the bridge onto the island, first on Lonøyveien, and then on Vauerveien and follow signs for Kuvauen/Guttormsvauen.
