About Kjølafjell

Along ski tracks in varied and nice terrain with the characteristic Rundemellen near you throughout the tour. At the parking lot the trail crosses Beitostolen - Danebu. Follow the trail east to Lii with Rundemellen in the back. At the trail crossings turn left, 4km gentle slopes up to Kjølafjellet. Alternatively, take the trail straight ahead and go to the same destination via Saursrunden. Kjølafjellet provides breathtaking views of the entire mountain massif towards Jotunheimen. From here 2 1/2 km downhill and easy staking down towards Vangsjøen. Continuing, 1.5 km at Rabalen to Vangsjøen Fjellstue before the trail turns to Kjølafjellet again. After 1.5 km there is a new crossings and 2 km up to Kjølafjellet. You are now following the same route as Danebuløypa along Raballsvatnet. Rundemellen is now on your right hand side as you have a fresh descent back to the starting point. The entire round is over 20 km. Getting there: From Fagernes take Fv 51 towards Beitostølen. After 11 km you are in Rogne. Take off from the road and go straight north towards Mellsenn. After 3 km there is a toll station (accepts credit card). Continue 6 km to the car park at Juvikåsen.
