Running 0.5 - 1.5 h 6.5 km
Bygdøy is one of the best places to run in Oslo. It’s one of the few trails with consistent elevation – good for pacing, intervals and long distance training. Enjoy the wide dirt and gravel trails that meander around the point and along the fjord. Although the trail running along the oceanfront isn’t the longest distance – there are plenty of trails that weave in and out of the park, beaches and residential areas that you can make either a perfect 10km or double up and do a 20km loop.
Take bus number 30 to Frognerkilen at the entrance of Bygdøy for longer runs or stay on the bus all the way in to Huk and head south to the trail along the beach from there.
You can also take a boat from Aker brygge to Bygdøynes (KonTiki museum).
If you drive, there are plenty of parking lots scattered around the island. Be sure to bring to a credit card, as most of the parking lots require payment.
