About Fuglane i Uri

Uri is a beautiful conifer forest reserve. It is a steep and rugged pine forests. Dry pine trunks extend upward toward Skutshorn. You can find rockfaces that offer beautiful views of Vangsmjøsa and the mountains. There is a rich bird life here. An impressive 72 species have been recorded here. The ground consists of phyllite slate which makes for dry forest ground. The forest is fairly short in height and relatively open.

Uri nature reserve is located on the north side of Vangsmjøsa and was placed under protection on the 9th of July 1993. The purpose is to preserve a coniferous area that has been influenced fairly little, with forest and vegetation types that are rare in this region.
