About Vevang Coastal Trail
The Vevang coastal trail is at the western end of the chain of bridges along the Atlantic Ocean Road. The short and easy-going dirt trail hides a surprise, a marble sculpture known as the Transatlantic Column. The column is in many pieces, lying amongst the rocks and in small ponds.
Vevang is located along Norwegian Scenic Route Atlanterhavsvegen.
From Molde, travel north on road 64. Just after passing the turn to Vevang, and before the first bridge, look for the parking lot on the left-hand side.
From Kristiansund, follow road 64 west and look for the parking lot after the last of the chain of bridges.
From the parking lot, follow the trail towards the sea. At the water’s edge, turn to the right and follow the trail along the coast. The trail leads around small ponds and the sculpture is scattered around the landscape.
The path continues around back towards the road and follows the road back to the parking lot.
