Drive on road 33 towards Dokka, approx. 7 km past the Tonsåsen road crossing. Then turn right towards Maslagrudberget (path sign). Drive for another km to the parking area.
It’s a short route, but it gets steep near the top of the view point. The painted “mountain flag” is just below the top of the Maslangsrud hill, painted in 1897 and the oldest of its kind in Valdres.
For a longer round trip, you can start at Etna Familiecamping. There are three parallel routes from the start, following the riverside up to road 33. They all meet before the path crosses road 33 and continue steep uphill. From here it meets the gravel road from the parking lot and continues as described above. After the viewpoint, keep to the South for about 1 kilometer and continue downhill, cross road 33 and you end up at Etna Camping again. This walk takes about 1.5 hrs. in total. You can also park by the Lunde Bridge, cycle along the South bank of the river towards Etna Familiecamping, and walk from there. This is a nice and varied trip, combining cycling and hiking, and it’s also possible to take a swim in the river.
