About Sandalen - Ole
This is a bit of a walk, amazingly beautiful, but long. This used to be the road for farmers from Vennis bound for Kvithaug and Ondale. The guys used this road every weekend throughout the summer to see the wife and kids, and to bring home cheese and butter for sale.
You start in the beautiful Sandalen valley at the hamlet where the car road ends. On Høgegga which is the highest point on the tour (1580 meters above sea level), you have magnificent views of the peaks of Jotunheimen, with Torfinnstindane opposite you. It must have been a challenge to get the cows and pigs over these wild rock taluses.
At Langetjednet (1480 meters above sea level) there is a tourist lodge where you can stay. From this lodge it is easy terrain down to Kvithaug. From here you can go east to the pond at Olefjorden or go west to the tourist lodge Yksendalsbu.
The trail is marked so it is easy to navigate.
