About Svøufallet

Svøufossen (Svøufallet) is a tall and beautiful waterfall near Åmotan in the region Møre og Romsdal. The waterfall plunges 156 meters down and creates the total height of about 313 meters with the vertical river before the main fall.

Getting there

Driving westbounds from Oppdal you drive for 35 km until you get to Gjøra. At Gjøra take a left and drive 3.5 km down to Jenstad. Park your car at the Jenstad Farm and pay a small toll fee.

Trail description

From the car park you follow handwritten signs pointing the way to Svøufossen. After walking through a grassy part, the path turns into a bit steeper descending section as entering into a forest. The descending part in the forest doesn’t last long before you get a clean look at Svøufossen. The hike down to the waterfall takes about 15-20 minutes total.
