About Secret Beach Trail
This trail leads you through a forest to Secret Beach. You can swim, surf some waves with your surfboard or enjoy the high waves from the shore.
From Lihue, take Kuhio Highway (56) to Kilauea. You need to take the next exit after Kilauea on your right, this is Kalihiwai Road. Then take the second road on your right. This is Secret Beach Road, where you can park your car at the end end of the road.
From Hanalei, take Kuhio Highway (56) to Kilauea. You need to take the exit just before Kilauea on your left, this is Kalihiwai Road. Than take the second road on your right. This is Secret Beach Road, where you can park your car at the end end of the road.
The trail is not marked, but you can see the trailhead on the left side of the parking lot.
On the island it is wise to rent a car. The public bus does not run often and drives only between the larger towns on the highway.
The trail is flat for 150 meters, after this it descends down to the beach.

- You will find some shops along the Kuhio Highway or at Hanalei.
Where to stay
You can choose from one of the many hotels on Kauai. The island is not big, the maximum distance you can travel is two hours, one way.
The island also has several camping pitches. The closest ones can be found around Anahola Beach Park. You need to obtain a permit in Linue to stay at this campsite.
