About Syndinstøga to Vaset
With mostly descents and flat terrain, and the only real climb at the end, the route from Syndinstøga to Vaset is perfect for the inexperienced skier, looking to spend some time on well groomed tracks. The start is at Syndinstøga, accessible by car as the road is open year around. The marked route will follow the prepared tracks, groomed every weekend. The route passes by a series of cabin and mountain farm areas, before it ends up at Vaset and Gomobu mountain lodge.
Either coming northbound or southbound on road E16, take the exit marked “Syndin-Strø” at Ryfoss. From Ryfoss follow the road marked with signs to “M. Syndin-Strø”. After you pass the toll booth, continue for about 7 km until you reach Syndinstøga.
From Syndinstøga it’s slightly downhill to the lake Syndin. The tracks then follow the lake, passing through mountain farm areas. You are over half way there when you reach the parking at Trillestølen. From Trillestølen, continue south and you will soon be passing Vasetvatnet lake. From Vaset center, follow the signs to Gomobu for a nice stay at Vaset. Consider continuing to Tisleidalen for an extended trip the next day.
At Vaset there are more than 120 km of groomed trails that are laid out in a varied and light terrain. There are 18 different routes, all marked and most based on starting at Vaset stadium.

The family owned Gomobu fjellstue, is the perfect base basecamp for winder adventures, such as cross country skiing or snowshoeing in the Vaset area. The modern hotel situated at 1000 meters above sea level, was founded in 1967, and offers modern cabins, traditional Norwegian food with local commodities and much more.
