About Leknes to Hagskaret
The cross-country skiing trail from Leknes and up to Hagskaret is a great option if you want to do some skiing in Lofoten. The trail takes you up 300 meters with great views from Hagskaret.
The trail is 10 kilometers each way, but you can do a shorter one by just going to "Gapahuken", an open shelter after 2.5 kilometers. It is also possible to take the bus back to Leknes from Hagskaret.
Park your car outside of Lofotenhallen by Leknes. From there follow the trail northeastwards.
You can also start at Hagskaret and follow the trail up to Steinheia and down to Leknes. Head towards Stamsund from Leknes and after 4 kilometers you will find a small parking lot on the left side of the road just after crossing the cross-country skiing trail.
From Lofothallen follow the trails going northeastwards passing Himmelstein and Skullbruheia. After 2.5 kilometers you will pass an open shelter (Gapahuken) and the trails take you across the wetlands around Tuva. From here the trails go east and up the hills and down to the foot of Steinheia. Follow the trail going south along the mountain and down to Hagskaret.
