About Skihytta and Rørneshytta Cabins
Skihytta and Rørnestinden cabins make for an easy hike out of Lyngseidet. Both offer views over the Lyngenfjord.
A trip to Skihytta is an excellent choice for young families or those looking for a short hike. Further along the trail, Rørneshytta has an idyllic location midway between the Rørnestinden and Goalsevárri mountains.
This trail can serve as a longer alternative for reaching Rørnestinden.
The trailhead is located in Lyngseidet in the heart of the Lyngen Alps.
The trail begins from the car park beside the ski hut in Sommarsetveien.
From the trailhead in Sommarsetveien, the path is marked to Skihytta cabin.
The trail leads up through the woods, just above the treeline to Skihytta, at 320 meters above sea level. This route makes an excellent trip for young families or those looking for a short hike. The return hike to Skihytta is about 4 kilometers and takes around 2 hours.
For a longer and tougher hike, continue west to Rørneshytta. The path is well-marked with a fairly consistent ascent up to 610 meters above sea level.
