About Håberget to Søre Osen
This route is stage 13 of the full Finnskogleden hike.
From the Håberget farm the trail travels over the mountain also named Håberget, before the descending toward the Osensjøen lake. The lake is the northern boundary of the Finnskogen region. After Håberget is Håbergskoia, located at the highest point of this stage. From here, continue along the trail or follow the forest road for an easy walk along the last few kilometers.
Shortly before Osensjøen is the main road traveling between Elverum and Trysil. Many chose to finish their Finnskogleden hike here, as the Trysilekspressen bus to Oslo stops at the nearby Kjernmoen bus stop.
Otherwise, continue for the final 10 kilometers to the village of Søre Osen, the final stop on the Finnskogleden trail. After crossing the road, follow along the east side of the lake until reaching the village. To take the bus, follow the same trail back to the main road.
- Drinking water is available from lakes and creeks along the trail
